On Tuesday, March 18, the House of Representatives approved the four tax reform bills that were initially sent to the National Assembly for third reading in October 2024.
Prior to this approval, the bills had undergone review and approval by the House Committee on Finance, which examined submissions from the public.
Controversy surrounds the tax reforms, with Northern leaders, the Nigeria Governors Forum, and various interest groups opposing certain provisions.
Despite these objections, the bills have now been passed, moving closer towards their final approval.
