Lil Yachty Calls Black Lives Matter a “Scam” in Viral Interview

Lil Yachty has sparked a heated debate online after labeling Black Lives Matter (BLM) a “scam” during a candid chat on Quentin Blackwell’s YouTube series, “Feeding Starving Celebrities.”

When asked about his charitable contributions, the Grammy-nominated rapper questioned BLM’s financial transparency, referencing past allegations of mismanagement of funds within the organization.

His remarks quickly went viral, igniting mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. While some praised him for speaking his mind, others accused him of undermining the movement’s core mission.

These comments come in the wake of reports that select BLM leaders allegedly used $6 million from donations to acquire a 6,500-square-foot California mansion in 2020. Co-founder Patrisse Cullors who resigned in 2021 amid scrutiny reportedly purchased a $1.4 million Los Angeles home.

Yatchy’s remarks sparked a range of responses – many anchored in critique and others in alignment.
