Ruben Amorim, manager of Manchester United, emphasized that the club’s main focus lies in building a strong team rather than winning the UEFA Europa League. He made these comments before the Red Devils’ upcoming Europa League match against Real Sociedad.
“People see the Europa League as the only competition we can win, as well as a route to qualifying for the UEFA Champions League,” Amorim said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“But to tell you the truth, I think we have bigger things to focus on. I know it sounds strange to say that, but what we are trying to build here is more important than winning a cup at this moment.”
Despite their struggles, with currently sitting 14th in the Premier League and being knocked out of the FA Cup by Fulham, Amorim believes that developing a cohesive unit is paramount for the team’s success.
