Mariah Carey’s elder sibling has alleged that the vocalist has orchestrated a YouTube video aimed at undermining his reputation.
Morgan Carey asserts that one of his sister’s admirers, who was under her “employment and control,” produced a YouTube video intended to further “detract” from his reputation.
This information emerges from a recent legal document, as reported by the Daily Mail.
In February of the current year, the document indicates that Morgan became cognizant of a YouTube video entitled Morgan Carey: A Deep Dive Into Mariah Carey’s Disturbing Older Brother, created by a Mariah enthusiast known as Lambily.
The video revisits revelations delineated in Mariah’s autobiography, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, which was published in October 2020.
These revelations include that Morgan and their mother, Patricia, were colluding to have her institutionalized to assume control over her financial affairs, along with allegations that Morgan physically assaulted their mother following their father Alfred’s departure from the household, as he wished to “assume the role of the man of the house.”
Morgan initially instituted legal proceedings against Mariah in 2021 for what he contended were false and defamatory statements.
Currently, he is petitioning the court to accept his newly amended lawsuit and for $40 million (£30 million) in damages and profits derived from the book, following the dismissal of 14 out of the 16 claims in his original complaint.
