NYSC finally begins payment of ₦77,000 monthly allowance to corps members

Tinubu rejects N942bn census budget, proposes use of NYSC corpers to cut costs

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially begun distributing the recently approved ₦77,000 monthly allowance to corps members nationwide.

Many corps members have already received the upgraded stipend as of Wednesday, March 27, sharing screenshots of their credit alerts.

This action is in line with the earlier promise made by NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, that the increased allowance would be implemented this month. However, there are still some corps members who have not yet received the ₦77,000 stipend and are waiting for payment.

The allowance increase comes after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval of a new minimum wage, which resulted in raising corps members’ stipends from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000.
