Stevie Wonder has been named as the concluding headliner for the upcoming BST Hyde Park festival this year.
The iconic singer of “Superstition” is scheduled to perform at Hyde Park in London on 12 July as a component of his forthcoming Love, Light & Song Tour.
Wonder, aged 74, has previously graced the annual summer festival with performances in both 2016 and 2019. The identities of his special guests remain unannounced at this time.
BST Hyde Park is organized over a span of three weekends, commencing with a performance by Olivia Rodrigo on 27 June and culminating with Jeff Lynne’s ELO on 13 July.
Other principal headliners for the event include Noah Kahan, Neil Young, Zach Bryan, and Sabrina Carpenter. The latter two artists are set to deliver two performances each in response to significant public interest.
Initially, Hugh Jackman was confirmed as a headliner; however, he withdrew due to a scheduling conflict, leading to Carpenter’s agreement to take on an additional headlining performance.
In conjunction with his appearance at BST Hyde Park, the hitmaker of “Isn’t She Lovely” has disclosed the U.K. dates for his Love, Light & Song Tour, which will commence with a headlining act at Lytham Festival in Lancashire, England, on 3 July.
In the interval between the two festival performances, Stevie Wonder will also take the stage in Manchester on 5 July, Birmingham on 7 July, and Cardiff, Wales, on 9 July.
There had been speculation regarding his potential performance at Glastonbury this year; however, he has not been officially confirmed as a performer for the festival scheduled in June.
Tickets for Stevie Wonder’s performance at BST Hyde Park will be available for purchase starting Friday, 21 March.
