Media personality Gbemi Olateru has sparked debate online after stating that the fastest way to get rich in Nigeria is by abandoning one’s morals and home training.
Reacting to the recent trend of celebrities and socialites flaunting Lamborghini purchases, Gbemi took to Twitter on Sunday to lament the growing culture of wealth acquisition at any cost.
“If you want to be rich and famous quickly in this country, you have to lose your home training, shame, and morals. Is that the kind you want though?” she wrote.

Her statement has stirred mixed reactions, with some agreeing and others countering her perspective.
One user, @UnlimitedEniola, warned, “You will pay through your nose to undo those things you earned throwing home training away. If you like, listen to people who say any way is a way. You will say ‘Had I known.’”
Another, @yinkaobebe, added, “There are people making money quietly and responsibly. That shameless, loud, and immoral mindset is a bubble. We must avoid glorifying it or making it seem like the only option.”
Gbemi’s remarks have reignited discussions about wealth, integrity, and the price of success in Nigeria’s social landscape.
