Ari Lennox is not only entering her ‘Soft Girl Era,’ but also embarking on a new music journey. This journey does not include her longtime label, Dreamville Records.

Ari Lennox has been signed to J. Cole’s imprint since 2015 and achieved her breakthrough in 2019 with ‘Shea Butter Baby’ in a joint agreement with Interscope Records.

In recent years, Lennox has publicly expressed her frustrations with her label situation.

Indeed, last October, she took to Instagram and wrote:

“Interscope and Dreamville have been playing with me all month and I’m so exhausted. I’m so tired of people treating me like they’re sorry for me and like I’m the face of mental health. I’m ok and I’ve never been happier. What I don’t like is being signed and lied to and manipulated. Not one person at those labels ever knew how to market or protect me. Y’all don’t know the half. Constant let down and neglect. This industry stuff will never be for me.”

TMZ Hip Hop has now confirmed that Lennox has parted ways with Dreamville.

According to the publication, Lennox will now be releasing music exclusively through Interscope, with ‘Soft Girl Era’ being the first project under the new deal.

It seems that Ari Lennox’s departure from Dreamville was drama-free. She recently performed at the Dreamville Festival and expressed gratitude to Cole and the label for their support in her career.
