Truck loading of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at the Dangote Refinery has resumed after a temporary halt due to the suspension of the Naira-for-crude programme, rising crude oil prices, and forex challenges.
While ship loading continued on a dollar basis, the refinery reportedly requested oil marketers to “top up” payments before resuming supply. MRS Oil & Gas and other complied marketers have started receiving petrol at N880 per litre.
Petrol Prices Hit Record High
The resumption of truck loading comes amid a nationwide surge in petrol prices, with new depot and pump prices reaching N900 and N960 per litre, respectively.
Regional Petrol Prices (Effective March 28, 2025)
- Lagos: N930/litre
- South West (Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Kwara, Ondo): N940/litre
- South-South/South East (Edo, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, Enugu): N960/litre
- Northern states: Higher prices due to logistics and transportation costs
The rising fuel costs continue to strain consumers, with fears of further increases if crude oil and forex rates remain volatile.
