Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao has addressed the lingering speculation surrounding her alleged role in the arrest of controversial cross-dresser Bobrisky shortly after her movie premiere last year.
The rumors stemmed from the widely publicized moment when Bobrisky was crowned “Best Dressed Female” at the premiere of Ajao’s film, a move that drew backlash from some of her industry colleagues.
Just hours after the event, Bobrisky was picked up by authorities, sparking conspiracy theories that the award had somehow played a role in the arrest.
Speaking during an interview on Oyinmomo’s official YouTube channel, Eniola Ajao firmly denied the claims, clarifying that Bobrisky’s arrest was related to financial misconduct, not anything tied to her or the event.
“I gave the best-dressed female award to Bobrisky to promote my movie,” she explained. “But I didn’t know that my colleagues would react negatively to it. I was very sad to see that they were fighting over the decision, and I later had to call them to explain my intention.”
She further added:
“I don’t have any issue with Bobrisky. He knew why he was arrested. No matter how much I try to explain on social media, people will still choose what to believe.”
Eniola emphasized that her relationship with Bobrisky remains cordial and supportive:
“Many of his friends neglected him when he was arrested, but I stood by him. I wasn’t behind Bobrisky’s arrest. He was arrested because of money, and I always visit him.”
The actress’s comments aim to set the record straight and highlight her loyalty to friends despite public controversies.
