“There’s No Contradiction, Only Completion” – Gigi Lamayne Finds Peace in Christ After Baptism

Gigi Lamayne makes a strong comeback with new music and business ventures

South African rapper Gigi Lamayne has embraced a powerful spiritual transformation. After being baptised, she publicly declared her commitment to Christianity, a decision she says came from a deep yearning for peace, truth, and clarity.

The Bleed Mama hitmaker, whose real name is Genesis Gabriella Tina Manney, opened up in an emotional interview with Daily Sun, sharing how her spiritual journey brought her closer to God and gave her life a new sense of direction.

“This decision came from a place of deep longing for peace, clarity, and truth… I’ve been through the highs and lows of this industry, and through it all, God never left my side,” said Gigi, who is 30 and hails from Lenasia, south of Johannesburg.

Unlike a forced change, Gigi described her transition as natural and soul-led, saying it was not born out of pressure but from a place of spiritual surrender.

“The more I leaned into Him, the clearer everything became… It felt like coming home.”

“I Choose Light. I Choose God. I Choose Purpose.”

Gigi explained that her baptism was more than a symbolic act—it was a declaration of inner transformation.

“Since being baptised, I approach my days differently. I speak with more intention. I forgive more easily. I trust more deeply… There’s a softness that’s entered my life, but also a fire.”

She admitted that arriving at this moment took significant emotional and mental work. From sitting with personal pain to unlearning old habits and facing doubts, the process “broke me open in the best way.”

Despite the challenges, her faith in God carried her through. “Mentally, it was a battle… But God kept whispering, ‘Keep going!’”

From Ubungoma to Christ: A Journey of Integration, Not Rejection

In 2021, Gigi had publicly embraced African spirituality, undergoing ukuthwasa and exploring ubungoma. She now says that while her current path is with Christ, she does not disown her spiritual past—instead, she sees it as part of a bigger picture.

“African spirituality gave me the language to honour my lineage… and yet, God was present even in that space.”

“Today, I walk fully with Christ, but I don’t deny the foundation that was laid… There is no contradiction, only completion.”

With this spiritual rebirth, Gigi Lamayne is stepping boldly into a new chapter of faith, purpose, and identity, using her voice and platform to inspire others on their own journeys of healing and transformation.
