“We’ll Return President Tinubu to Lagos” – El-Rufai Declares Amid Reported Opposition Coalition with Atiku and Peter Obi

CAN Warns Tinubu of El-Rufai’s Manipulative Politics, says beware

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has openly declared that President Bola Tinubu will be sent back to Lagos as part of a growing opposition movement ahead of the next general elections.

Speaking at the Arewa TechFest in Katsina on Wednesday, El-Rufai confirmed that a high-level coalition meeting involving key political figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was held on Tuesday night in Abuja.

The trio is reported to have agreed to adopt the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the official platform for the emerging opposition coalition, which is set to challenge the current administration.

El-Rufai said:

“Yesterday at 8 PM, there was a very important meeting of the coalition we’re putting together to ensure that President Tinubu goes back to Lagos.”

Despite his strong opposition to Tinubu’s leadership, El-Rufai commended Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, praising his performance and stating he would be retained in a future government.

“Though we will still keep Bosun Tijani, we will still keep the minister because he is doing good work,” El-Rufai added.

The political landscape continues to heat up as speculation mounts over a possible grand alliance between Atiku, Obi, and El-Rufai, united under the ADC banner. If true, it could reshape Nigeria’s political terrain ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
