Award-winning South African singer Kelly Khumalo has reportedly ended her 17-year professional relationship with longtime manager, creative director, and designer Kgothatso Tsotetsi, following allegations of financial misconduct.
According to sources close to the matter, Khumalo discovered that Tsotetsi had allegedly been accepting payments for styling and management services behind her back, raising concerns about financial transparency and trust. The singer is said to have cut ties with Tsotetsi in early May, and the two are reportedly no longer on speaking terms.
Tsotetsi, who played a pivotal role in shaping Khumalo’s image and stage presence—including designing outfits for her and her band—has denied all accusations of theft, asserting that the decision to part ways was mutual.
In a statement, he said:
“If Kelly feels I’ve stolen her money, it’s fine.”
He also added that he left to focus fully on growing his fashion brand, insisting there is no bad blood between them.
Insiders, however, suggest that the fallout has taken a personal toll on both parties, given the length and depth of their working relationship.
As of now, Kelly Khumalo has not issued an official public statement regarding the matter.
