Two female Secret Service agents have been suspended from duty following a physical altercation outside former U.S. President Barack Obama’s residence in Washington, D.C.
Surveillance footage of the incident, which occurred around 2:30 a.m. on May 21, shows the two women grappling near a marked police vehicle stationed outside the Obama residence, reportedly valued at approximately $8 million.
In the audio, one of the agents can be heard requesting a supervisor, stating, “Can I get a supervisor down to Delta Two immediately before I whoop this girl’s ass?”
The Secret Service has since confirmed that both agents involved in the confrontation have been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
In a statement to the Mirror, a Secret Service spokesperson said:
“The individuals involved were suspended from duty and this matter is the subject of an internal investigation.
The Secret Service has a very strict code of conduct for all employees, and any behavior that violates that code is unacceptable. Given this is a personnel matter, we are not in a position to comment further.”
The video, shared publicly by journalist Susan Crabtree of RealClearPolitics, quickly drew widespread criticism on social media. Many expressed concern over the professionalism and integrity of the Secret Service.
One commenter wrote, “The lack of professionalism is astounding,” while another added, “Wow! The Secret Service just isn’t the same as it was 30 years ago.”
The incident has sparked renewed scrutiny over internal discipline and conduct standards within the agency tasked with protecting America’s highest-profile officials.
