Pastor Paul Adefarasin Condemns Benue Massacre, Urges National Action

Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Paul Adefarasin, has voluntarily presented himself to the Lagos State Police Command following the circulation of a viral video showing him allegedly brandishing a gun-like object during a road altercation.

Lagos police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development via his official X account on Tuesday, stating:

“No one is above the law! Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, and is currently being interrogated by detectives who have commenced investigation… The outcome will be made public.”

The video, which sparked massive public backlash, showed the renowned pastor holding what appeared to be a firearm while engaging another motorist. The car he was seen driving also lacked a number plate, raising further concerns.

As of the time of this report, House on the Rock Church has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.

Paul Adefarasin, founder of the Lagos-based church since 1994, remains one of Nigeria’s most influential Pentecostal leaders.
