The Benue State House of Assembly has officially reinstated six of its members who were previously suspended for alleged misconduct and disruption of legislative activities.
The lawmakers — Solomon Gyila, Williams Ortyom, Blessed Onah, Simon Gabo, Anyor Mato, and Elias Audu — were part of 13 legislators suspended by the Assembly on February 19, 2025.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by Mr. Terver Zamber, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, the decision to lift their suspension followed a formal written apology submitted by the affected lawmakers to the Speaker and the House.
“The six lawmakers are now free to resume their full legislative duties,” Zamber confirmed.
The reinstatement signals a possible resolution to recent tensions that had disrupted the state’s legislative process.
