Social media personality Brittany Renner has confirmed her split from rapper Kevin Gates, just 52 days after tying the knot.
During a candid interview with Real 923 LA on Saturday, June 7, the 33-year-old influencer revealed that the couple got married on April 6 and finalized their divorce on May 28, leaving fans and even the host stunned.
When asked for clarity, Renner confidently replied, “Yes,” confirming the divorce. She then elaborated on the Islamic process of divorce, explaining the 90-day waiting period designed for reflection, reconciliation, and to determine if the woman is pregnant, during which time the husband remains responsible.
“In those 90 days, it’s for reconciliation because Allah wants you to stay married,” she said. “It’s a nice 90-day reset, just focusing on myself and pouring into myself.”
Renner emphasized her commitment to personal growth and her choice to remain single and drama-free during this period. She credited her newfound faith in Islam for providing clarity and peace, saying, “Islam has made my life a lot easier.”
Despite criticism and speculation surrounding the short-lived union, Renner remained unapologetic:
“I followed my heart, and that’s more than what most people can say in this world. I have no shame in that.”
