Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada has reaffirmed the club’s ambition to win both the Premier League and Women’s Super League (WSL) titles by 2028, marking the club’s 150th anniversary.
Speaking to United We Stand fanzine, Berrada admitted the target is ambitious, especially after the men’s team finished a disappointing 15th in the 2024/25 Premier League season—their worst result since 1973-74—and missed out on European qualification.
Despite the setback, Berrada remains optimistic:
“Can the team win the Premier League title by 2028? Of course. We’ve just finished 15th and it seems an impossible task. But why not aim for it? Why not do everything in our power?”
The Manchester United Women’s team enjoyed a stronger season, finishing third in the WSL and reaching the FA Cup final, where they lost to Chelsea.
Berrada, who joined United from Manchester City in January 2024, believes the men’s squad can be rebuilt quickly enough to challenge for top honours within the club’s set timeframe.
