Chelsea has reportedly submitted a €15 million offer for AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, falling significantly short of the Serie A side’s €25 million valuation plus add-ons.
The 29-year-old France international, whose current deal at San Siro runs until June 2026, is said to be keen on a move to Stamford Bridge.
However, Milan’s new manager, Massimiliano Allegri, is unwilling to sanction a sale, viewing Maignan as a crucial part of his rebuilding plans.
Signed from Lille in 2021 for €16 million, Maignan has made 163 appearances for the Rossoneri and was instrumental in their 2021/22 Serie A title win.
Talks over a contract extension have stalled, prompting Chelsea to make a move. But unless they raise their bid, Milan is unlikely to sell. The club is reportedly eyeing Torino’s Vanja Milinković-Savić as a possible replacement.
This transfer standoff comes as Milan finalizes the €75 million sale of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City and prepares to announce Luka Modrić on a free transfer.
