Cubana Chief Priest Urges President Tinubu to Ban Open Grazing Amid Benue Killings

Nigerian socialite and businessman, Cubana Chief Priest, has spoken out on the ongoing violence and killings in Benue State, calling for an immediate end to open grazing across the country.

In a post shared on Instagram, the nightlife entrepreneur, who had previously met with President Bola Tinubu, urged the federal government to take decisive action by outlawing open grazing—a practice he believes has significantly contributed to the unrest in the region.

“My President, make that order now! End public grazing. The level of damage done is brutal. This madness has to stop. Feed your cattle in your ranches,” he wrote.

Cubana Chief Priest further encouraged the people of Benue to remain vigilant and defend themselves if necessary, stating that self-defense in the face of such attacks should not be considered a crime.

“Benue people, sharpen your sword. No gree for anybody to ‘kpai’ you. To defend yourselves no be crime!” he added.

His remarks come amid widespread calls from citizens, activists, and public figures for the federal government to introduce stricter livestock management policies to curb the farmer-herder conflicts that have plagued parts of the country, particularly in the Middle Belt region.
