NBA star Draymond Green is never one to bite his tongue, and during a recent sit-down on The Pivot podcast, the Golden State Warriors forward made it crystal clear where he draws the line when it comes to trash talk on and off the court.
While reflecting on some of the heat fellow baller Jalen Green and model Draya Michele faced when their relationship went public, Draymond admitted that certain jabs can go way too far, especially when they target a man’s woman or children.
“If you start talking about somebody’s lady, I don’t respect that. It doesn’t even have to involve me,” he said. “Everybody talked about [Jalen Green] and his woman… that ain’t none of y’all business. Get out that man business.”
Draymond said he publicly defended Jalen because the commentary crossed a line. For him, relationships and family—especially kids—are sacred ground.
But let’s be clear, Green also admitted there are some lines he doesn’t mind crossing—specifically when it comes to moms.
“Wife & kid off limits. But ya mom? I’m crushin’ her,” he said unapologetically, sending the internet into a laughing frenzy.
Reactions from fans online were pure gold:
-
@just__octavia: “Yep. Yep. I agree… but also, mamas should be off limits too lol.”
-
@dopeaxxpana: “We all used to spit yo momma jokes, stop acting like y’all don’t know what this man talking about…”
-
@iballright: “Someone relay this to Drake.” (That certified lover boy shade 👀)
-
@b.reid_: “Wife & kid off limits. But ya mom? I’m crushin her 💀💀💀😭😭😭”
-
@blac.kertheberri: “They can never make me hate Draymond 💪🏾💯”
So while Green is no stranger to going hard in the paint—verbally or physically—he’s letting it be known: women and children are off limits… unless it’s your mama. Then it’s game on.
One thing’s for sure: Draymond gonna talk his talk—respectfully reckless.
