Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle is aiming to secure additional trophies for the team.
Chelle recently steered the West African squad to victory in the Unity Cup invitational tournament, clinching a 5-4 penalty shootout win over Jamaica’s Reggae Boys.
Despite holding the lead twice thanks to goals from Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze, the Super Eagles were equalized by their opponents each time.
Following a tense extra-time period, the Nigerian team emerged victorious by converting all four penalty kicks, while Jamaica only managed to score three.
Eric Chelle is optimistic that the Unity Cup triumph is just the beginning of a successful trophy-laden journey with the Super Eagles.
“In reality, this is my first trophy as a coach,” Eric Chelle told Oga Nla Media after the match.
“When I was a player, I won trophies, but this is my first as a coach. I hope with this, I can bring more trophies for Nigeria.
