Kate Henshaw Slams Age-Shaming Trend Among Young Nigerians Men

Kate Henshaw

Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has publicly criticized the growing trend among young Nigerians—especially men—who use age as an insult, particularly against women.

In a video shared on her social media platforms, Henshaw addressed the issue head-on, condemning the act as ignorant and hypocritical.

She expressed disbelief that age, a natural and privileged aspect of life, is now weaponized in online insults.

“It’s always the young men. When they want to insult you, the first thing is to call you ‘old woman.’ Is that supposed to hurt me?” she asked.

She went on to question the contradiction in such behavior: “You wish people long life on their birthdays, yet you use age as an insult. Make it make sense.”

The actress emphasized that growing older is a privilege that not everyone gets to experience, and should be seen as a blessing rather than a point of ridicule.

“Nobody can shame me. Ageing is a privilege. The peace and confidence that comes with age? That’s real freedom,” she concluded.
