Former First Lady Michelle Obama has humorously revealed why she’s glad she didn’t have a son — joking that he would’ve been just like her husband, Barack Obama.
Speaking on a recent episode of “The Light Podcast” alongside her brother Craig Robinson and radio host Angie Martinez, Michelle laughed off the idea of raising a boy:
“I’m so glad I didn’t have a boy! Because he would’ve been a Barack Obama,” she quipped.
She admitted that the pressure of growing up as “Baby Barack” would have been tough on any son they had. Her brother teased that she simply “borrowed” his sons instead, to which Michelle agreed.
The Obamas are parents to two daughters — Malia (26) and Sasha (24) — and Michelle reflected warmly on every stage of motherhood, from babyhood to their independent adult lives.
“Watching them grow into their own people… it’s been amazing,” she shared.
