Afrobeats superstar Davido has taken a sharp jab at Hon. Timothy Owoeye, the former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, following his controversial remarks about the Adeleke family and the 2026 Osun governorship election.
Owoeye, a top chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had earlier declared that the party’s governorship ticket is “not for sale to the Adeleke family,” sparking political tension in the state. 
The comments came amid rumors of a possible defection to the APC by current Governor Ademola Adeleke and his influential family, after a recent visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Lagos.
Taking to social media, Davido—a nephew to Governor Adeleke—issued a cryptic yet stinging response that stirred up laughter and heated reactions online.
“No be this guy naked for bush?” Davido wrote, referencing an alleged past scandal involving Owoeye that went viral years ago.
The post quickly went viral, with fans and celebrities reacting across platforms. Davido’s cousin and fellow artist B-Red even dropped a laughing emoji under the post, signaling his amusement at the dig.
While speculation about the Adeleke family’s possible move to the APC continues, Governor Adeleke’s camp has dismissed defection rumors, clarifying that the visit to Tinubu was simply a courtesy call by the Adeleke patriarch, Dr. Deji Adeleke, accompanied by Davido.
Political analysts, however, say the situation highlights growing tensions ahead of the 2026 Osun gubernatorial race, where party loyalty and family influence will play a key role.
