R&B singer Summer Walker is facing heat online after sharing an edited photo of South African influencer and reality TV star Wandi Ndlovu with roasted chicken legs attached to her body — a move fans quickly labeled as “body-shaming.”
Walker, who is reportedly putting the finishing touches on her third studio album ‘Finally Over It’, posted the controversial image on Instagram during a break from recording.
The post immediately sparked backlash, especially as Ndlovu has been open about her cosmetic surgery journey — including reports of a BBL, tummy tuck, and even rib removal.
Some fans felt Walker crossed a line, accusing her of mocking Ndlovu’s appearance at a vulnerable time, especially after the influencer allegedly expressed regret and plans to reverse some of her surgeries.
In response to the backlash, Summer took to Instagram to defend herself, claiming the post was taken out of context.
“I understand that a lot of y’all don’t get my personality or my dark humor… I’m not body shaming. This generation sensitive as f**k,” she wrote.
“She’s bad as f**k, she looks so good. It was not in that way. It was funny because it’s ridiculous; it has nothing to do with the girl!”
Walker even shared a screenshot of a private conversation between herself and Wandi Ndlovu, showing that the two had cleared the air and there was no bad blood between them.
Still, some fans weren’t buying it, pointing out that Summer has previously clapped back at critics over her own rumored cosmetic procedures and should be more sensitive given her past experiences with body-shaming.
Despite the controversy, Walker appears unfazed and has continued teasing music from her upcoming project. As the drama unfolds, fans are divided, with some defending her humor and others calling for more accountability from celebrities online.
