Taylor Swift has been granted a temporary restraining order against a Colorado man who claims she is the mother of his child. The pop superstar filed legal documents against Brian Jason Wagner, citing a series of alarming and false claims.
According to documents obtained by Page Six, Swift alleged that Wagner “made various statements about living at my property”; “being in a relationship with me”; “believing I am the mother of his son”; and “needing to see me in person.” She emphasized, “All of which are untrue and disconnected from reality.”
The legal filings reveal that Wagner first appeared at Taylor Swift’s Los Angeles residence in 2024 and returned multiple times that July. On one of those occasions, he was reportedly carrying a glass bottle, which could have been used as a weapon.
The situation escalated further in May 2025 when Wagner allegedly showed up at Swift’s home again, claiming he “was there checking on a friend (again, this is entirely untrue).”
Taylor Swift’s security team conducted an investigation and discovered that Wagner had previously been in jail. They also uncovered disturbing letters he had written, professing an obsession with Swift and making up stories about a nonexistent romantic relationship and other false claims about their supposed connection.
In a troubling development, Wagner is also accused of placing Swift’s address on his driver’s license and attempting to reroute her mail to his own address.
The temporary restraining order was officially granted on Monday and is set to remain in effect until June 30.
This incident underscores the ongoing challenges celebrities face with personal safety and the importance of legal protection in the face of obsessive and threatening behavior.
