Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is expected to leave Arsenal when his contract expires on June 30, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano revealed via his official X (formerly Twitter) account that negotiations over a new deal between Partey’s camp and Arsenal have stalled, with no significant progress made. The 32-year-old joined the Gunners from Atlético Madrid in 2020 on a five-year contract worth £45 million.
Despite a solid 2024–2025 season in which he registered four goals and three assists in 52 appearances, Arsenal are reportedly preparing to move on and have identified Brentford’s Christian Nørgaard as a potential replacement.
Partey is currently on holiday after recently winning the Ghana Footballer of the Year award for the third time at the Ghana Football Awards.
His departure would mark the end of a four-year spell in North London, during which he played a key role in Arsenal’s midfield resurgence under Mikel Arteta.
