President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to Nigerian Muslims and the global Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, urging citizens to embrace the core values of sacrifice, devotion, and selflessness as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
In a statement released on Thursday, the President described the festival as a moment of spiritual reflection and national renewal. He noted that Eid-el-Kabir coincides with the sacred first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, a period filled with blessings and opportunities for acts of worship.
“To truly honour Eid, we must embody the virtues of sacrifice and submission to Allah’s will. Eid reminds us of our responsibilities beyond faith—to show resilience, tolerance, compassion, and dedication to Nigeria’s progress,” he said.
President Tinubu reassured Nigerians that the bold reforms undertaken by his administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda are beginning to yield positive results, despite initial hardships. He emphasized that the most challenging phase is behind the country, and that the economy is beginning to show signs of improvement.
“Though the journey has not been easy, the resilience of public and private sector leaders, along with Nigerians’ steadfast support, is delivering results. Our reforms are gaining traction and key indicators are moving in the right direction,” Tinubu said.
He acknowledged the difficulties faced by citizens but called for continued faith and perseverance, adding that the ultimate goal is sustainable development and improved living conditions for all.
The President also expressed sorrow over the recent flooding in Mokwa, Niger State, which resulted in loss of lives and property. He called for prayers for the victims and solidarity in supporting government relief efforts.
“Let us pray for the repose of the souls lost in the Mokwa tragedy and stand with those affected in this difficult time.”
Tinubu concluded his message by urging Nigerians to pray for frontline officers, national leaders, and global peace, emphasizing unity, generosity, and shared humanity during the sacred celebration.
“May the joy and blessings of Eid-el-Kabir multiply in our lives and the life of our great nation,” he said.
