Vice President Kashim Shettima has condemned Friday night’s deadly suicide bombing at a local eatery in Konduga Local Government Area, Borno State, describing the attack as a “heinous act of terrorism” against innocent civilians.
In an official statement issued Saturday, Shettima, a former governor of Borno State, expressed deep sympathy to the families of the victims and assured them of the Federal Government’s unwavering support.
“Our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones in this senseless act of violence. The government stands with them in this difficult time,” he said.
The Vice President also emphasized the government’s resolve to bring the perpetrators to justice, calling on security and intelligence agencies to intensify investigations and ensure that those responsible face the full force of the law.
He reiterated the Tinubu administration’s commitment to restoring peace and stability in the North-East and across Nigeria, vowing that terrorists will not succeed in derailing the country’s hard-won security progress.
“The administration of His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, remains committed to restoring lasting peace and security. We will not allow our enemies to undermine the progress we have made in degrading their capabilities,” Shettima affirmed.
The attack, which killed and injured multiple civilians, is the latest in a series of violent incidents in the region, long plagued by insurgent activities.
