Popular comedian Woli Arole has publicly criticised certain university fellowship leaders, known as “Papas” and “Mamas,” for allegedly asking fellow students to bring them foodstuffs as “first fruits.”
Taking to his Instagram page, Arole condemned the practice, questioning its legitimacy and spiritual basis.
“What nonsense is this all about?” he wrote, expressing frustration over the trend where student leaders expect material offerings from their peers under religious pretenses.
The comedian’s post has sparked widespread debate online, with many agreeing that such demands exploit young believers, while others defended the practice as a symbolic act of giving.
