Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr has debunked viral claims that her new contract with Roc Nation prohibits her from having a boyfriend or starting a family.
The speculation emerged after a podcaster alleged that a clause in her five-year management deal with Roc Nation, owned by American music mogul Jay-Z (Sean Carter), restricts her from engaging in romantic relationships or building a family during the contract period.
“Ayra Starr isn’t allowed to have a boyfriend or start a family during her five years contract with Roc Nation,” the podcaster claimed in a video that circulated widely on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
However, Ayra Starr dismissed the rumor with a sarcastic post on X, writing:
“Does Ayra Starr know about this?”
She also reposted a fan’s tweet that read, “Them lie on top your head for broad daylight,” confirming the report was entirely false.
Ayra Starr, who is signed to Mavin Records and recently secured a high-profile international management deal with Roc Nation, continues to rise as one of the leading voices in Afrobeats with global recognition and chart-topping hits.
