Former Adamawa State governorship candidate, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani, has officially parted ways with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a circulating video, Binani was seen holding the flag of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), affirming her defection to the opposition party, which is aligned with a growing political coalition.
Addressing her supporters, Binani declared, “We have embraced the ADC, and we’re ready to move forward under its banner,” adding a pointed message: “We ask God to separate us from those who are corrupting the party while pretending to walk with us.”
She had previously contested the 2023 Adamawa governorship election under the APC, where she posed a strong challenge to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in one of Nigeria’s most controversial and closely watched elections.
Her move to ADC signals a new political chapter and a likely reshaping of alliances ahead of future elections.
