Nigerian rapper Dandizzy has voiced his concern over the rising levels of poverty and hunger in the country, stating that the current rate of begging is unprecedented.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the rapper lamented how begging has become a daily reality, not just among the unemployed but also among working Nigerians.
“We’ve never had begging this bad in Nigeria,” Dandizzy wrote. “They’re literally begging you at every corner—and I mean people with jobs. Receptionists, security guards, waiters, and even their supervisors. People are poor and their salaries are not enough. God abeg!!”
His comments echo growing concerns over the cost-of-living crisis, with inflation and economic hardship pushing more Nigerians into financial desperation.
Dandizzy’s post has since sparked reactions online, with many users agreeing that salaries no longer cover basic living expenses, leaving many to depend on handouts to survive.
