Popular Nigerian gospel artist Dunsin Oyekan was attacked by an unidentified man while ministering at his monthly Upper Room worship programme in Lagos.
The unsettling incident occurred mid-performance when the assailant emerged from the crowd and attempted to confront Oyekan on stage. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.
Thanks to the quick response of protocol officers, the situation was swiftly contained. The team stepped in to shield the singer and forcibly separated him from the attacker before any harm could occur.
A video clip of the scene has since gone viral, sparking concern and prayers from fans and fellow ministers across social media platforms.
As of now, Dunsin Oyekan or his team have not released an official statement regarding the incident. However, the worship session reportedly continued after calm was restored.
The gospel community and fans have praised the security team for their swift intervention, while many are calling for improved safety measures at worship events.
