Rapper Megan Thee Stallion and NBA star Klay Thompson have officially stepped into the spotlight as a couple, making their red carpet debut on Wednesday at the Inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City.
Speaking to People magazine about their relationship, the “Mamushi” hitmaker described their first encounter as a “movie moment.”
“Oh, we met and it was such a meet-cute — it was like a f**king movie,” Megan Thee Stallion said, adding, “I won’t tell you how and I won’t tell you when, but it was a movie. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life.”
The star-studded gala was organized to raise support for women, children, senior citizens, and underserved communities, and named in honor of Megan’s late parents, Joseph Pete III and Holly Thomas.
“I feel like they can see what I’m doing right now,” she said during the event.
“I feel like they’re looking down on me from heaven, and I feel like they’re like, ‘Yes, daughter!’… I feel like my momma’s so happy… like she is clapping. I feel like they’re super proud.”
The red carpet appearance comes just a week after Thompson was subtly featured on Megan Thee Stallion’s Instagram, in a July 9 post where fans quickly spotted the Dallas Mavericks player in the background — sparking dating rumors that now appear confirmed.
