British actor Micheal Ward is facing serious legal trouble after being charged with multiple sexual offences. On July 25, the London Metropolitan Police confirmed that Ward, 27, has been charged with two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault. The allegations involve a single woman and are connected to an incident that allegedly occurred in January 2023.
Micheal Ward is scheduled to appear before Thames Magistrates’ Court on August 28.
Detective Superintendent Scott Ware stated that the police are continuing to support the woman involved. “We know investigations of this nature can have significant impact on those who make reports,” he said.
Catherine Baccas, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London South, also addressed the development: “Having carefully reviewed a file of evidence, the Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge Micheal Ward… We remind all concerned that proceedings against the suspect are active and he has a right to a fair trial.”
She emphasized the importance of avoiding public commentary or online speculation that could jeopardize the integrity of the legal process.
In a statement released shortly after the charges were announced, Ward denied all allegations. “I deny the charges against me entirely,” he said via The Guardian. “I have cooperated fully with the police throughout their investigation and will continue to cooperate… I have full faith that the proceedings will lead to my name being cleared.”
Following the announcement, Olivia Bell Management confirmed that it has severed ties with Ward, stating: “We no longer represent him.”
