Governor Monday Okpabelo of Edo State has come under intense public scrutiny following the emergence of what is claimed to be his West African Examinations Council (WAEC) result.
The controversy erupted shortly after the governor issued a warning to Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, following his recent visit to Benin City, where Obi reportedly donated ₦15 million.
According to documents circulating online, the WAEC result, dated 2008, shows that the governor performed poorly in his secondary school exams. His best grade was reportedly a C5 in Mathematics, while he allegedly scored D7 in Commerce, Economics, and Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK), and E8 in English Language.
The report has triggered a wave of reactions across social media, with many Nigerians mocking the governor’s academic performance in light of his recent political statements.
