Nigerian singer and entrepreneur Mr Eazi has opened up about his extended absence from the music scene, revealing that he took the time off deliberately to rest and reflect.
In a candid post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Skin Tight hitmaker wrote:
“I’ve been on holiday all year. I started feeling guilty but then I realised I’ve been working since I was 15!! Rest is a blessing! Choplife season!”
Born Oluwatosin Ajibade, Mr Eazi has kept a low profile since releasing his critically acclaimed debut solo album, The Evil Genius, in 2023. The album stood out for its unique fusion of African sounds and visual art, earning praise for its rich storytelling and cultural innovation.
Despite his break from performing and recording, Mr Eazi has remained active behind the scenes. He continues to manage emPawa Africa, a platform he founded to empower and promote emerging African artists.
Mr Eazi is also known for his marriage to Temi Otedola, actress and daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola.
The couple has often kept their relationship private, but remains one of Nigeria’s most admired celebrity pairs.
While there’s no word yet on when fans can expect new music, Mr Eazi’s message emphasizes the importance of rest, self-care, and balance—a timely reminder in the fast-paced world of entertainment.
