Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” tour stop at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium turned chaotic earlier this week when panic broke out at the Vine City MARTA station following her concert.
According to AllHipHop, the confusion began when a woman screamed and ran after seeing a bug, causing others nearby to panic without knowing the reason. A spokesperson for MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) confirmed,
“The initial reports were that a woman was scared of an insect and screamed and ran away from it, and others panicked not knowing what was happening.”
In the scramble, the crowd surged toward the escalators, which abruptly sped up and then stopped suddenly, causing several people to fall.
As a result, nine individuals sustained injuries. One person reportedly broke an ankle, while seven others received minor treatments at nearby hospitals. Another individual declined medical attention.
This wasn’t the only disturbance during the Atlanta leg of Beyoncé’s tour. Earlier in the week, a break-in occurred involving members of Beyoncé’s tour crew. The incident happened while Beyoncé’s choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue were near Krog Street Market. Their rented Jeep Wagoneer was broken into during a brief absence, resulting in the theft of two suitcases.
In a police report, Grant stated that the bags contained sensitive materials related to Beyoncé’s show, including:
- Watermarked and unreleased music
- Show footage
- Setlists (past and upcoming)
- Hard drives with detailed plans for the Atlanta performance
Nearby security cameras captured footage of the theft, and two sets of fingerprints were recovered. An arrest warrant has been issued, but no suspects have been taken into custody as of now.
Despite the setbacks, Beyoncé’s tour continues to draw massive crowds, though fans and crew alike are hoping for smoother days ahead.
