Karabo “JoJo” Sejojo, the vibrant fan-favorite from Big Brother Mzansi: Umlilo, has announced that she will be taking a temporary break from social media to prioritize her mental health and reconnect with her family.
The 27-year-old reality star and singer, who hails from Bloemhof in the North West, shared the emotional news with fans on Monday, June 30, expressing her need for personal reflection and healing.
“I’ll be taking a temporary break from social media to prioritise my well-being and spend meaningful time with my family,” JoJo wrote. “This period of reflection and care is important to me, and I believe it’ll allow me to return with renewed clarity and strength.”
JoJo rose to national fame earlier this year as one of the top five finalists on Big Brother Mzansi, where she earned widespread admiration for her strong personality, warmth, and standout leadership—serving as Head of House twice during the season.
Since leaving the show, she has kept fans engaged with her journey, including the launch of her music career. In April, she released her debut single, Ntliziyo Yami, calling it the beginning of a dream come true.
“From your screens to your speakers, my heart is in every word of this song,” she shared at the time. “Ntliziyo Yami is finally here — my official debut single and the beginning of a dream I’ve held close for so long.”
In her farewell post, JoJo thanked her supporters for standing by her and emphasized that the decision to step away was not made lightly.
“I’m grateful for your continued support, understanding, and respect during this time. Your encouragement over the months has been a constant source of motivation, and I look forward to reconnecting with you all soon.”
Before signing off, she left fans with a reminder to prioritize compassion:
“Until then, please continue to be kind to yourselves and to one another.”
Though she’s stepping out of the spotlight temporarily, JoJo’s journey is clearly far from over. Her fans eagerly await her return — stronger, clearer, and even more determined.
