Radio host and activist Nessa Diab is turning up the heat on Jay-Z, Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, and the NFL, making bold accusations about how they allegedly tried to sabotage her husband, Colin Kaepernick.
After Nicki Minaj’s recent explosive posts on X (formerly Twitter), accusing Roc Nation of shady behind-the-scenes smear tactics, Nessa backed her up—and then some.
The outspoken media personality says Nicki’s experience hit close to home because she witnessed those same tactics used against Kaepernick.
Nessa on Instagram Live: “I Saw It Happen to Colin”
In a fiery Instagram Live, captured by LiveBitez, Nessa said Nicki’s revelations “struck a nerve” and brought back memories of how Roc Nation allegedly attempted to “discredit” Kaepernick during his protest against police brutality and racial injustice in the NFL.
“Sadly, I knew it wasn’t even a question because I saw it happen to Colin,” she said. “And I called this out years ago.”
She urged viewers to “do your research” and revisit the timeline from Colin’s kneeling protest days, emphasizing that this wasn’t her first time sounding the alarm.
Accusations Against Jay-Z: “He Knew Exactly What That Deal Would Do”
Nessa didn’t hold back when it came to Jay-Z’s 2019 “Inspire Change” NFL partnership, accusing the rap mogul of making the deal without consulting Colin.
She claimed Jay-Z only called Kaepernick after the agreement was signed, knowing full well how it could damage Colin’s reputation.
“You know how I know? I was there. I heard the conversation,” Nessa said.
She added that Jay-Z’s involvement with the NFL was a “calculated” move designed to rehabilitate the league’s image while pushing Colin further out of the spotlight.
Twitter Bombshell: “They Co-Opted the Protest”
On July 16, Nessa posted a scathing tweet that reignited the conversation:
“@NICKIMINAJ exposing the smear campaign tactics that Jay-Z, Roc Nation, Desiree Perez did to her behind the scenes, is VERY similar to what I was told they did to @Kaepernick7 when Jay purposely co-opted Colin’s protest by siding with the NFL to help ‘their image’ after they blackballed Colin for his protest.”
She also alleged that Roc Nation earned $5 million per year for five years in a deal that helped the NFL bury Kaepernick’s protest and shift the narrative away from his blackballing.
To add fuel to the fire, she threw shade at Desiree Perez’s 2021 Trump pardon, hinting that deeper NFL owner ties might be in play.
