Nigerian marriage therapist Shamseddin Giwa has stirred online discussion after claiming that many marital problems stem from sexual frustration and lack of satisfaction in the bedroom.
In a Facebook post shared on Sunday, July 14, Giwa asserted that orgasm and proper sexual fulfillment could resolve a significant number of relationship conflicts.
“Lack of s3xual satisfaction will lead to marital frustration,” he wrote. “Many of the issues we are trying to resolve are rooted in s3xual frustration. Climax, orgasm, then see what will happen.”
Giwa emphasized the importance of mutual sexual fulfillment, stating that penetrative intimacy, tailored to a partner’s needs, should not be neglected or downplayed.
“Proper penetrative s*x is paramount in your marriage as desired by your spouse and balanced out by you, don’t get it twisted,” he added.
He also urged couples not to mask sexual issues with superficial values, warning that religion and moral behavior alone cannot compensate for sexual disconnect.
“Leave ‘religion and good behaviour’ out of this one,” he concluded.
The post has sparked a wide range of reactions on social media, with some agreeing with Giwa’s candid approach to intimacy in marriage. In contrast, others criticized him for downplaying non-sexual aspects of marital harmony.
Giwa is known for his unconventional but practical advice on relationships and intimacy, especially within African and religious contexts.
