No nightlife, no alcohol for you in Saudi Arabia – Al Nassr boss, Jesus tells Joao Felix

Joao Felix

Al-Nassr manager, Jorge Jesus, has said that Joao Felix would have no option than to be a successful player in Saudi Arabia.

He pointed out that the lack of distractions off the field such as nightlife and alcohol could help the attacker.

The Portuguese manager, however, stressed that Joao Felix, who left Chelsea to join the Saudi giants on a permanent deal this summer, is not someone who drinks alcohol or goes out at night.

However, the Al-Nassr boss maintained that such lifestyle is still a distraction nonetheless.

Jesus said that the absence of a nightlife and alcohol in the Islamic country will ensure Joao Felix focuses only on his game.

“He made the right choice, [in moving to Saudi Arabia] because there’s no other option; you just have to play; there’s nothing else,” he said as quoted by Portuguese outlet O Jogo.

“Saudi Arabia is a country where there’s no alcohol, nor does he drink alcohol. There’s no nightlife, not that he goes out at night either. There are no other distractions.”

The former Atlético Madrid midfielder was said to be on his way back to his boyhood club, Benfica, before Al-Nassr, who is captained by his national team captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, called.

The Saudi Pro League side paid an initial fee of €30 million plus a further €20 million in add-ons.
