Manchester United are reportedly planning a behind-closed-doors friendly this week in a bid to get Benjamin Sesko and Andre Onana ready for their Premier League opener against Arsenal.
The Red Devils will kick off their 2025/2026 campaign at Old Trafford this Sunday against Mikel Arteta’s side. They concluded their official pre-season schedule with a 1-1 draw against Fiorentina on Saturday, having earlier faced Leeds United, West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton.
Speaking after the Fiorentina game, manager Ruben Amorim revealed he already “had an idea” of the starting XI for the Arsenal clash but urged his squad to “fight” in training to “change his mind.”
According to The Times, the friendly — likely against a local rival — will serve as a high-intensity runout to give Sesko and Onana vital ‘real world’ match sharpness ahead of the season opener.
