Tottenham continued their strong run against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City with a 2-0 win at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Brennan Johnson and Joao Palinha struck in the first half to secure the result, giving Spurs back-to-back victories at the start of the new campaign following Tottenham 3-0 triumph over Burnley last weekend.
The north London club are now unbeaten in their last three trips to the Etihad and have suffered just three defeats in their last ten meetings with City, cementing their reputation as one of Guardiola’s toughest challengers in English football.
For City, it was another difficult afternoon, with goalkeeper James Trafford facing a tough time between the posts.
