Festus Keyamo Blasts ADC, Accuses Party of Using ‘419 Format’ Ahead of 2027 Elections

Minister of State for Labour, Festus Keyamo

Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) of employing deceptive tactics in preparation for the 2027 general elections, likening their strategy to a “419 format”—a reference to fraudulent schemes.

Keyamo made the remarks during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, where he dismissed the ADC’s methods as outdated and incapable of fooling Nigerians.

“They know us very well and we also know them very well. They are not strangers to us,” he said.

The former EFCC prosecutor asserted that the opposition party was using recycled techniques he had once prosecuted as fraud.

“Some of these tactics they are using are what is called 419. It was what I used to prosecute people as EFCC prosecutor. The format they are using is expired. Nigerians know that format already. So you cannot use it to deceive them.”

Keyamo further criticized the ADC for what he described as selective criticism, accusing them of pulling isolated issues and generalizing them in an attempt to mislead the public.
