The Federal Government has honoured 17-year-old Nafisa Abdullahi from Yobe State with a cash prize of N200,000 following her outstanding performance at the TeenEagle Global Finals in London, where she was crowned World Best in English.
The award was presented on Thursday in Abuja by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, during a special ceremony.
Nafisa Abdullahi was celebrated alongside fellow champions Rukaiya Fema and Khadija Kalli, who had earlier received fully-funded scholarships from the Atiku Abubakar Foundation in recognition of their remarkable achievements at the competition.
In a letter dated August 5, 2025, and signed by Prof. Ahmadu Shehu, Acting Secretary of the Foundation, the students were commended for their exceptional performance across different categories.
Standing out for her mastery of the English language, critical thinking, and articulation, Nafisa Abdullahi outperformed contestants from 69 countries to clinch the global title.
