Manchester United suffered one of their most humiliating nights in recent history on Wednesday, crashing out of the Carabao Cup to League Two side Grimsby Town after a tense penalty shootout at Blundell Park.

The match ended 2–2 in normal time, with Grimsby stunning the Red Devils early on. Charles Vernam and Tyrell Warren struck inside the opening 30 minutes to hand the home side a shock two-goal lead.

What followed was pure drama, as the shootout stretched deep into sudden death. Grimsby kept their composure to edge United 12–11 on penalties, sparking wild celebrations among the Mariners’ players and fans.
