US-based Australian rapper Iggy Azalea has revealed Nigerian Afrobeats star Victony as her current favourite artist.
Speaking during a livestream chat with popular streamer N3on, the Fancy hitmaker said she discovered Victony on Apple Music through a featured collaboration and was immediately captivated by his sound.
“I like Victony. He’s an Afrobeats artist. He’s on fire,” she said. “I found him on Apple Music while listening to a collaboration he did with another artist, and I fell in love with his sound.”
Azalea playfully added that Victony has now become part of her “soundtrack in the shower.”
Her revelation adds her name to the growing list of international stars showing admiration for Nigerian music. Billie Eilish previously named Tekno as her favourite, while Colombian singer Shakira recently listed Burna Boy among artists she enjoys listening to.
